The fundraising efforts of children from two primary schools in Islay – Port Ellen and Bowmore - has won recognition in the Scottish Parliament.
Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron was so impressed by their fundraising dance video to the tune of “Jerusalema” (by Master KG, featuring Nomcebo), which he saw on social media, that he lodged a motion at Holyrood praising their efforts.
Mr Cameron said: “I’m not at all surprised to see that the enthusiasm and energy of children showcased in the video has touched so many people.
“Children in Need is a very worthy cause and well done to everyone who helped to make the dance video happen.”
Local Councillor, Alastair Redman, added: “It’s great that the wonders of social media allow us to share such happy and positive events, particularly at a time like this when people can feel isolated.
“The whole community here in Islay will have taken great pleasure in seeing the dance brought to them on their screens.”
