Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron and Councillor Alastair Redman have come together to congratulate Islay businesswoman, Emma Clark, on being chosen as one of the top 100 Women in Tourism for 2020.
Emma is the proprietor of Glenegedale House, a guesthouse which is located midway between Bowmore and Port Ellen on Islay.
Mr Cameron said: “At a time when the tourism and hospitality industry is facing such challenges, it’s marvellous to have some good news like this.
“My congratulations to Emma on this recognition of her hard work and commitment to tourism on Islay.”
Councillor Redman, also an Islay resident, and Policy Lead for Business, Regeneration and Commercial Development for Argyll and Bute Council, said: “It is impossible to overstate the importance of tourism and hospitality to the economy of Islay, and Argyll and Bute in general.
“It’s really good to know that we have a home-grown winner of this important industry award here on our island.”
