The success of four students from Dunoon Grammar School in winning an award in a UK-wide technology competition has been recognised by the Scottish Parliament.

The S1 students, Ruaridh Mitchell, Jaydon Wallace, Ross Weir and James Cameron, won the Future Technologist category at the 2020 Apps for Good awards, Their winning submission was for an "epiCpen", a smart auto-injection pen that contacts emergency services and loved ones if a user is taking an anaphylactic shock.

Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron, who submitted a motion to the Parliament congratulating them said: “At a time when our education system is facing major challenges it is good to be reminded of the outstanding achievements of which our young people are capable.

“My warm congratulations to Ruaridh, Jaydon, Ross and James and to everyone at Dunoon Grammar who helped them gain this distinction.”
