Labour failed to answer why they are standing pro referendum candidates at this election.
Anas Sarwar was challenged on Andrew Marr and Sophie Ridge over several Labour candidates who are in favour of an independence referendum.
Their Edinburgh Central candidate said ‘I have pushed, and will continue to push, within the party, for the right to call a referendum to sit with the Scottish Parliament.’ Their Dundee West candidate said ‘If we're truly not content with the status quo, hadn't we better call for a referendum’.
Labour can’t be trusted to oppose indyref2. Several Labour candidates would back a referendum right now and in the future, and it’s clear that even more could give in to the SNP and support it.
Labour are too weak to stand up to the SNP. The only way to stop an SNP majority again - and get the Scottish Parliament 100% focused on rebuilding Scotland is to vote Scottish Conservative & Unionist on your peach coloured party list ballot on 6 May.
