Shadow Finance Secretary Donald Cameron is calling on SNP ministers to pass on money received from the UK Government to Argyll and Bute Council.
Mr Cameron said: “The Scottish Government has received an extra £155m through Barnett Consequentials which is intended to help local councils with the costs of the coronavirus pandemic.
“However Argyll and Bute Council has still not seen money it is due, despite promises from the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, and others.
“Now is not the time for delay and the SNP must not be allowed to wriggle out of their promises.”
Councillor Gary Mulvaney, Depute Leader of Argyll and Bute Council, added: “We believe that we are owed about £2.7m.
“We badly need this financial assistance and it is very disappointing that the Scottish Government has dithered and delayed these payment despite the pleas that have been made by councils the length and breadth of Scotland.”
