Highlands and Islands MSP Tim Eagle visited London to attend the NFU Mass Lobby event and meet with local farmers who were protesting against Labour's changes to Agriculture Property Relief and Business Relief.
In addition to attending the mass lobby, Tim met with several senior MPs to discuss a range of issues affecting constituents across the Highlands and Islands Region, including meetings with the Shadow Minister for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Robbie Moore MP, and the Chair of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee, Alistair Carmichael MP.
Regarding the mass lobby event, Tim Eagle MSP said:
"The strength of feeling from farmers was palpable, with an estimated 20,000 people descending on Central London to protest against Labour's Family Farm Tax.
"People are angry and worried about these changes, and if they go ahead, they could spell the end of the family farm, and also cause issues for our economy and domestic food security.
"Labour have got this completely wrong, but there is still time to put things right."
