In Keills today I was putting out our latest Conservative leaflet and hearing directly from local residents about their concerns.
Once again the importance of maintaining our small schools across Islay was justifiably raised and I'm happy that our council administration is committed to keeping our small schools open in Argyll and Bute.
As well as local road conditions being brought up the matter of ferries and our transport links was also spoken about by many of my constituents on the doorstep.
Our community are rightly concerned about the longstanding issues that many face with ferry transport, especially during peak season.
We need a service that can support residents and local businesses, including the vital whisky industry, and also allow tourists to travel seamlessly to and from our islands.
