I had a very productive meeting with Depute Policy Lead for Economic Development Cllr Bobby Good and Depute Policy Lead for Communities, Housing and Islands Cllr Sir Jamie McGrigor in Kilmory where we discussed many pressing issues.

With continued industrial and broad economic growth in the Kintyre and Islands ward, and across Argyll and Bute, it is essential that we strive to provide good quality housing that meets our diverse and dynamic economy's needs.

This must include a sensible mix of direct affordable purchase properties, part rent part buy shared equity schemes and social leases.

As I have stated so many times in the past, at both a local and nation level we need a renewed push for better digital connectivity across our rural constituency. Some surveys in the past have shown that Argyll and Bute has the 3rd slowest broadband speeds in Scotland.

This is truly damming and should focus the minds of our political leadership north and south of the boarder as well as our various internet providers. Long gone are the days that many people just used the internet for checking emails and watching cat videos. Many of our small businesses rely on online sales, and online publicly to keep themselves afloat, grow their footfall and to future proof their economic models.

Whether it is roads, ferries, housing, broadband speeds or many other pressing and important local issues. Argyll and Bute residents can be assured that we Conservative Councillors are working tirelessly for our local wards.
