The SNP has finally scrapped the hated Named Persons scheme and must apologise.
After years of pressure from campaigners, families and the Scottish Conservatives, the SNP have finally u-turned on their plans for this Orwellian scheme.
Last month an expert panel set up to examine the issue found that going ahead with the policy was ‘not the right thing to do at this time’.
The separatists pursued this policy for over six years, despite being told it was unpopular and unworkable.
We in the Scottish Conservative and Unionist party are the only party that has consistently opposed Named Persons. When we pointed out the huge flaws with the plan and the threat to family life, they told us we were scaremongering.
The SNP must now apologise to all who have been affected by this flawed policy.
