I was delighted to attend the latest annual Life Boat Fun Day at Port Askaig pier. As we all know the RNLI is entirely funded by donations and fundraising and gets no money from central government. It was great to catch up with the brave and hardworking RNLI and Coast Guard volunteers at the event.
It is essential that we never take for granted the service and sacrifice our lifeboat crews make to keep our seafarers safe. This is especially true for we who live on the Islands.
A huge thanks to all of the organisers and contributors to the Life Boat Fun Day and our RNLI and Coast Guard crews.
