I have been speaking at length to my constituents on the Rinns of Islay about the recent problems with the Vodafone mobile network coverage.
Some local residents of Portnahaven and Port Wemyss have been without Vodafone signal for 3 weeks. To make matters worse it took numerous calls to Vodafone from myself and my constituents over the course of 2 weeks before they even acknowledged that there was a problem.
I'm pleased to report that after severe pressure from local residents, myself and the Oban Times Vodafone's mobile coverage returned this morning.
While I am delighted that normal service has returned the agonisingly long time taken by Vodafone to rectify the signal issues is simply unacceptable and only reinforces local feelings that Vodafone are indifferent to their customers in rural ares and only concern themselves with their urban based customers.
As your local Councillor I will continue to push Vodafone and the other mobile phone networks for a better service.
