I was able to catch up with my constituents while visiting Tarbert, Tayinloan and at my latest surgery in Whitehouse. I continue to hear very understandable concerns raised about some of the repair works on the trunk roads and I have been in regular contact with BEAR Scotland who have been keeping me informed about their planned maintenance work and I have continued to stress the need for investment.
Poor mobile phone signal is still prevalent in many areas in the Kintyre Peninsula particularly on many farms, and outside of the larger villages and towns. With BT's ambitions to phase out many of the phone boxes in Kintyre it's essential that our mobile roaming capacity and broadband infrastructure is brought into the modern era. The age of rural Argyll being given an archaic and sub-par service in digital connectivity must come to an end.
I have also been sadly inundated with emails and phone calls from concerns about the confusing new layout of waste collection calendars, who wonder why the tried and tested previous schedule could not be updated as has happened before.
On these matter and many more I have been in contact with the appropriate departments to get them addressed as soon as possible.
