Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron is backing calls for the Scottish Government to support efforts to save jobs at the CS Wind turbine factory in Campbeltown.

Mr Cameron said: “There is definitely a role for the Scottish Government given the strategic importance of the sector and the impact the job losses would have on the local economy.

“Ministers simply have to get their act together, work with the regional agencies,  and contribute to a solution.

“All too often it seems that the SNP Government is fixated on the Central Belt and shows  a lack of urgency when tackling challenges in the Highlands. That has to change.”
