On behalf of all the candidates, and our newly elected group of councillors, Argyll and Bute Conservative and Unionist Association would like to thank all of our members and supporters, who turned out in such great numbers and voted in the local elections last week.
Association chairman, Sandy MacPherson said "Our results at the Local Government Election on 4 May were outstanding, enabling us to increase our elected councillors on Argyll and Bute Council from three to nine. Very grateful thanks to all who supported our campaign and our candidates."
The new intake of members and our veterans were a terrific help during this election, as were dedicated and enthusiastic friends and family. We could not have done it without you all.
Our Councillors, both old and new, are ready, willing and able to tackle the challenges that we face here in Argyll & Bute. The dedicated team will work hard to make sure you are well represented.
Sandy MacPherson added "We now have a very strong presence on the Council, and all our councillors are committed to working very hard on behalf of their constituents and in the best interests of Argyll and Bute as a whole."
Many separatists said that we had no chance of wining and that we were wasting our time. But they have been proven wrong. We said No to independence in 2014, and once again, we have sent a clear message to the SNP that we meant it. Only the Scottish Conservatives will stand up to these divisive plans, and continue to say no to a 2nd referendum.
If you have a problem or concern please don't hesitate to get in touch with your local Councillor, and we look forward to meeting you at the various events in the future.
