I was back in Ballygrant yesterday putting out my latest survey, checking up on road repairs and speaking to local residents.
As ever, our infrastructure is raised time and time again, particularly concerns about the ability of Islay's road network to cope in the future.
This is very understandable when you take into account the continued growth in our local distillery industry, all the more so with new distilleries opening almost every year.
I will keep pressing for more money to be spent on our infrastructure at both a local and national level.
Once again the issue of speeding through Ballygrant has been brought my attention with many locals worried for the safety of children and adults alike.
I have spoken to both the roads department and the local police about this problem. While a change in speed limits and an introduction on advisory speed limit signs may help what our villages need is enforcement and patrols from local police.
Whether it be in Ballygrant or elsewhere in my ward as your local Councillor I will keep fighting for every corner of the Kintyre and Islands ward.
