I was out and about leafleting and speaking to my constituents on the doorstep in Bridgend, Newton and Ballygrant again today. Among the many issues brought up were vehicles speeding through our villages, disruptions to ferry sailings, slow internet speeds and poor road conditions.
Despite severe budget pressures, Argyll & Bute Council has been able to invest a significant sum of money into our road network which I strongly welcome.
Roads in our area are crumbling, largely due to heavy goods vehicles, and that is why the Scottish Conservatives have called on the SNP Government to create a £100m pothole action fund so that we can effectively tackle this problem head on.
