Two local elected representatives have congratulated the pupils of Port Ellen Primary School, Islay, on achieving the Cyber Resilience and Internet Safety Award.
Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron said: “It’s good to know that Port Ellen Primary School is engaging so successfully with this innovative scheme and I would like to offer my hearty congratulations to pupils on gaining this award.
“Whether we like it or not, our children inhabit a digital world and we must do everything possible to keep them safe.”
Local Councillor, Alastair Redman (Kintyre and the Islands) added: “Living on an island affords no protection from potential harm on the internet and our children need to be taught how to navigate the web just as they need to be able to navigate across a busy road.
“Well done to everyone on achieving this award.”
