I was happy to attend the first Taste Islay & Jura festival market in Bowmore this weekend. There was lots of delicious food produce sourced locally and from further afield.

This is the first year of this exciting new Food, Drink and Foraging Festival across the Isles of Islay and Jura.

The three day event involved the Saturday market, cookery demonstrations, food tastings and pairings, competitions and local produce menus for the duration of the event. The event also offered adventure trips around our islands all with a strong food, drink and foraging theme.

Events like these showcase Islay, Jura and Argyll & Bute's quality produce and our growing dynamic and vibrant rural economy.

I look forward to attending the next Taste Islay & Jura festival in the future.
