Jamie McGrigor, Highlands & Islands Conservative MSP, has welcomed the news that Lochgilphead’s Joint Campus is to have its sports pitch upgraded to a 3G pitch this summer.

Commenting today, Jamie, who recently raised the matter with the Scottish Sports Minister Shona Robison, said:

“This is very welcome news and a real boost for the Lochgilphead community.  The new 3G pitch will mean local sports clubs can look forward to having a modern and reliable surface on which to compete.

“I would wish to pay tribute to all my constituents who have campaigned so effectively to persuade the council to move forward with a new pitch, notably Peter Laing who co-ordinated a well-supported petition on the subject.

“I look forward to seeing the new pitch when it opens later in the year”.
