Complainants continue to roll in from my constituents on the Isle of Gigha about the condition of their local road network some of which is becoming almost impassable.
The section of road in the picture is located near to the golf course. However, there are dozens of other potholes along the same stretch of road, and many locals have serious concerns that by the end of the winter this situation might well be five times worse than It's current condition.
The potholes are crumbling away very quickly into larger and larger creators.
To make matters worse it is now nine years since the road was last resurfaced.
Gigha's road network has a lot of heavy traffic with fish farm lorries travelling along this route, as well as the First Milk tanker.
With the tarmac seemingly 40mm thick at best in many areas, Gigha's roads are just not capable of taking anymore punishment without some proper maintenance.
I have contacted our roads department to make my concerns very clear and to see what can be done.
The Isle of Gigha much like the rest of the Kintyre and Islands ward must not be treated like a backwater.
Vital infrastructure work must happen in order to keep our Island and mainland Kintyre economies growing.
