As it continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, Argyll and Bute Council is highlighting the importance of council tax in delivering council services, and thanks the vast majority of residents, who continue to pay their tax, for playing their part in keeping vital services going.
The council is also highlighting that help is available in some circumstances if you are having difficulty paying your council tax.
Councillor Gary Mulvaney, Policy Lead for Strategic Finance, said:
“Council tax payments have never been more important than they are now, while we’re responding to COVID-19 and working to help the area move on from its impact.
"We know that this is a difficult time financially for many people. Thank you to the huge majority of our residents who are working with us to protect much needed council services by paying their council tax.
"If you are having difficulty in paying your tax, please find out if help is available for you. We will do all we can to help.”
If there has been a reduction in your income you may qualify for council tax reduction (CTR).
You can find out more about CTR, and how to apply for it, on the council’s website: https://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/welfare-reform/council-tax-reduction-scheme You can also make a claim by calling the Council on 01546 605512 or e-mailing [email protected] and they will do all that they can to help.
