As a local small business owner in Argyll and Bute I know all too well the challenges we face in the rural and urban parts of this constituency. While our local and national economy are starting to grow, thanks in part to the sound and fiscally responsible management of our economy by the Conservative and Unionist UK Government, we are still facing big challenges. Our population is falling here whilst elsewhere we see growth.
Argyll and Bute's infrastructure is creaking. We need more affordable housing and quality jobs for young people. Our broadband service and roads are some of the worst in Scotland. The A83 problem at the Rest and be Thankful has still not been addressed by the Scottish Government. Our local NHS service like the Oban Dental Practice and Lorn & Islands Hospital have like so many hospitals across Argyll and Bute has seen so many vital services taken away from and our local hospitals local areas and centralised to Glasgow by the SNP government. Looking forward to the General Election, who knows what the cost of a Labour or Lib-Dem coalition would be? Both of them are half way down the aisle with the SNP. Labour has failed to rule out a deal with the SNP and the Lib-Dems' Vince Cable has stated in the Press that he is open to a rainbow coalition that includes the SNP. Don’t waste your vote on the Lib-Dems who are finished in Scotland and Argyll and Bute. They are trailing all other parties with only 4% in the polls. Labour's support is also collapsing and they have never won in Argyll and Bute. It is clear that in Argyll and Bute only the Conservative and Unionist Party has the strength to beat the SNP and only we can safeguard Argyll and Bute’s hard fought economic progress.Vote Conservative and Unionist at the Election and I promise to work tirelessly for Argyll and Bute.
