The Chancellor Rishi Sunak has delivered his budget and it included several major announcements that will benefit Argyll and Bute, including fast-tracking the delivery of the Argyll and Bute Rural Growth Deal from 15 years to 10 years.
The Chancellor has also announced that planned increases in duties for spirits such as Scotch whisky, wine, cider and beer, will all be cancelled.
Throughout the pandemic, Rishi Sunak has taken decisive action to protect nearly a million jobs across Scotland.
Now he is going further by extending the furlough scheme by five months, providing £1.2 billion more for the Scottish budget, and extending the £20 per week uplift in Universal Credit. These are the actions of a UK Government focussed on Scotland’s recovery.
