I'm just back from another successful surgery in Carradale today. I was able to check up on the progress being made on the many road, drain and signage repairs that I had previously requested from our local roads department. I have heard again about grass verges that remain uncut in East Kintrye and many other areas in the Kintyre and Islands ward. For safety reasons alone this must be rectified.
Back on Islay I visited Mansefield Rd in Port Ellen and I was happy to see that after relentless lobbying from myself the potholes on that street have at long last been filled. This is more than welcome and not before time. While all of the repairs that are happening across Islay, Jura the rest of the Kintyre and Islands ward are not always ideal it's at least a step in the right direction.
I have had a number of local residents that have contacted myself about the large potholes and street lighting being blocked by overgrowing tree branches at An-Creagan Pl in Port Charlotte. All these faults and others brought to my attention have been raised with the appropriate department and be rest assured that I will keep pushing hard in-till they are properly fixed.
