It was great to attend the latest East Kintyre Community Council meeting in Carradale and to speak to local residents on the doorstep.

I heard numerous matters raised including drainage issues, road signage, the new footpath, the status of the local Community shop and the condition of the local cemetery paths.

Today I was back on Islay putting out my latest leaflet in Port Ellen and Bowmore. I saw first hand the progress being made by our local roads workers as they did some much needed potholing.While these potholes repairs are not a permanent they are at least a stopgap until resurfacing is done.

I'm confident that in the future we will build on the progress being made when it comes to the condition of local infrastructure.
