I had another very successful surgery in Portnahaven today where I was informed about lots of important local issues from my constituents.
Faulty street lights on Shore Street, Portnahaven and Shore Street, Port Wemyss still persist and when repairs finally do happen they don't seem to last.
On top of that local roads in both villages of Portnahaven and Port Wemyss recent and long standing potholes are going unfixed on Main street, Shore street, King street and Church street. As well as the terrible road surface in Claddach the parapet wall in Claddach is badly damaged and must be repaired as any delay will just increase the long-term costs of getting this fixed properly.
Sadly dog fouling incidents continue in both villages and while the vast majority of local residents are responsible dog owners it only takes a tiny minority of bad dog owner to create this problem. This is as unacceptable as it is disrespectful and will continue until dog warden patrols in the area are more regular.
Every issue that has been brought to my attention will be pursued until these matters are resolved.
