I have been putting out my latest in-touch/survey leaflet in Port Charlotte, Portnahaven and Port Wemyss.
I was able to speak to many local residents while also checking in on the progress being made by our roads department in regards to pothole repairs in the Rinns of Islay. I am happy to say that many of the areas that needed repairing have had work done; that said there is still much more to do.
Although there are budgetary limitations Argyll and Bute council are putting more money into our roads budget. With our local Council increasing roads spending now it's time for the Scottish Government to step up to the plate.
I will continue to work with fellow Conservative Councillors, MSP's and MP's in order to press the SNP to stop being so urban and independence obsessed and to start delivering for rural Scotland.
I will be on the mainland side of my ward and Isle of Gigha from the 13th to the 18th of August attending meetings and having surgeries after that I will visiting and speaking to my constituents in Port Ellen and the rest of the south side of Islay extensively.
