It was great to be back in Tarbert recently where I had the chance to drop in and see how the many local business proprietors are managing during these trying times. I also had the chance to speak to many other constituents about pressing local and national matters.
The need to buy locally sourced products from local small businesses wherever possible was brought up by Tarbert's hardworking businessmen and women, along with concerns over the position of the proposed new electricity pylons and the negative effects it will have on the local skyline.
Once again I heard justifiable concerns about our trunk road network and the need for central government to sort it out with proper fit for purpose investment rather than more piecemeal patch work. The flooding on our trunk road network is becoming a real hazard as we head into the winter. It seems that year after year the flooding problem is not being addressed.
No matter the time of year, no matter the issues I will continue to fight hard for every corner of the Kintyre and Islands ward.
