Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross has called for the SNP to drop their Referendum Bill when the pandemic response needs parliament and government’s attention. The SNP said they would publish a Referendum Bill before the May election, and have not ruled out pushing for another referendum this year.
In the middle of a pandemic it would be irresponsible in the extreme to keep diverting precious time and civil servants attention away from fighting the virus and protecting jobs.
We cannot afford to be distracted by the constitutional debate. Another referendum is the last thing Scotland needs.
